<p>Election day is this Tuesday, October 14th! Please go out and vote NDP and tell your friends and family to vote NDP as well. But where do I vote you ask? Just type in your postal code athttp://www.elections.ca/home.asp. It’s that easy. All you need to bring to the polling station is a photo ID and proof of address in your riding, such as a telephone bill or a driver’s license.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This Thursday April 3rd, we will be having our annual End of Year Party at the Alex P. Keaton (580 Talbot St.). Doors open at 5:30 pm, there will be raffle prizes, guest speakers and cash bar. We will also replay our End-of-Year slideshow. Dinner includes a drink, starter soup/salad and choice of main course item. **Dress to impress**</p>
<p>Tickets are $20 and are available at InfoSource (in the UCC atrium by the Tim Hortons). Special guests include; Gina Barber, Board of Controller for London City Council, Tim Carrie, President of London District Labout Council and of course, Irene Mathyssen, NDP MP for London-Fanshawe. Everyone is invited to join us, regardless of their political partisanship, so feel free to invite your friends! This is a great opportunity to meet and get to know other fellow progressives, politically active students and celebrate another successful year.</p>

in the <strong>SOCIAL SCIENCE CENTRE ROOM 3010</strong></p>
<p><em>Positions to be elected:</em></p>
<p><strong>Campaigns Director </strong><br />
a. Be responsible for coordinating the campaign team during a WND<br />
awareness and election campaigns, includingWND involvement in London North Centre provincial and federal elections and WND involvement in USC general elections..<br />
b. Be responsible for putting together and presenting a campaign plan to the executive.<br />
c. Be responsible for providing constituency representatives with all relevant campaign materials, including talking points, leaflets, etc.<br />
d. Where appropriate shall report to the President and club executive on the progress of awareness and election.</p>
<p><strong>VP External Affairs </strong><br />
a. Maintain contact and coordinate with the ONDY, and local NDP Riding Associations.<br />
b. Strive to attend at least one riding association meeting of each of the three London area riding associations, and at least one ONDY, provincial or federal council throughout the year.<br />
c. Ensure for the representation of the New Democratic Party at the annual USC Model Parliament.</p>
<p><strong>Women’s Caucus Chair </strong><br />
a. Be responsible for organizing and chairing the Women’s Caucus of the WND<br />
b. Be responsible for ensuring that women within the WND are fairly represented<br />
c. Be elected by the members of the Women’s Caucus<br />
d. Be a member of the Executive Committee and enjoy equality of status with all the members thereof</p>
<p><strong>Promotions Officer </strong><br />
a. Be a member of the Executive Committee, and enjoy equality of status with all the members thereof.<br />
b. Maintain and update a permanent website for WND.<br />
c. Approve and Coordinate production of all publications of and advertising for WND.</p>
<p><strong>Social Officer </strong><br />
a. Be a member of the Executive and enjoy equality of status with all<br />
the members thereof.<br />
b. Be responsible for organizing and implementing social events for the<br />
club.<br />
c. Be aware of the USC Insurance Policy and ensure it’s enforcement at<br />
club events .</p>
<p><strong>Labour Solidarity Officer </strong><br />
a. Be a member of the Executive and enjoy equality with all the members<br />
thereof<br />
b. Be responsible for maintaining and improving relations with the<br />
Worker’s movement in London</p>
<p><strong>LGBTQ Caucus Chair </strong><br />
a. Be responsible for organizing and chairing the LGBTQ Caucus of the WND<br />
b. Be responsible for ensuring that LGBTQ people within the WND are fairly represented<br />
c. Be elected by the members of the LGBTQ Caucus<br />
d. Be a member of the Executive Committee and enjoy equality of status with all the members thereof<br />
Consituency Reps<br />
a) Be members of the Executive Committee, and enjoy equality of status with all the members thereof.<br />
b) Have a right to take up portfolio positions of their choosing after consultation with the President.<br />
c) Portfolio positions may assist any other executive positions (i.e. campaigns, promotions, etc.), or be one they have invented themselves that is not currently on the executive that deals with a particular political interest members may have (i.e. environmental, lgbtq, etc.)<br />
d) Encouraged to take the lead in promoting the club to a consituency (ie. Affiliated Collages,Residences, Faculties ect)</p>
